Case Study

Complete LED lighting project

Design and supply of LED solution

Initial opportunity

As well as supplying products to our end users, we also supply to the trade. We were approached by one of our partners, South Wales maintenance and engineering (SWM) to tender for the supply only of a complete LED lighting solution for one of their customers, Capital Coated steel, at their newly refurbished Newport site. SWM had been awarded the complete refurbishment contract at the new site and have been a long term supplier to Capital coated steel for many years.

Project scope

We were asked to build a cost comparison against their existing lighting and our new LED lighting. We carried out a complete site survey and examined existing light levels. We then provide SWM with a photometric design our all new areas to ensure that the new lighting was up to the relevant CIBSE and health and safety standards. We also informed Capital coated steel that they could eligible for an interest free loan from the carbon trust. This allowed them to spread the cost on the project and the savings would pay back the loan. We covered the design and supply of all their lighting requirements. From production and warehouse, to office, emergency lighting and external lighting.
