BIS are proud to sponsor Blaenau Gwent District Schools Rugby aged 9-11.
District gives local rugby enthusiasts the opportunity to trial and earn their place in a team that will go on to play in all districts in Wales, with the intention of playing in a final and hopefully winning a trophy. All participants that are successful in earning their place in the team will eventually earn a district cap that would be a great start to hopefully some successful careers in the future. You never know there could be future Welsh internationals in the making.
Currently under 11’s allows the opportunity for both male and female applicants. After successful trials applicants will be whittled down to 20 successful candidates and a reserve number of 4 just in case of injuries.
To be successful applicants will have to take part in three fitness and rugby skills training sessions. After trial sessions have taken place applicants will be whittled down and eventually a final match will be carried out to pick the final team. This is great experience for all children.
